Silver Eagle Distributors President and CEO John L. Nau III and his wife Bobbie Nau have pledged $1 million over the next five years to establish the Nau Scholars Program Fund at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

The fund will help UTSA recruit and support undergraduate and graduate students in history. The pledge also will help UTSA advance efforts to become a Tier One institution and brings the school’s capital campaign total to $110 million. UTSA has a goal of raising $120 million by 2015.

Nau, who has a degree in history from the University of Virginia, has served as chairman of the Texas Historical Commission and chairman of the U.S. Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.

Houston-based Silver Eagle is the largest distributor of Anheuser-Busch products in the United States. The company holds the exclusive rights to distribute Anheuser-Busch products in the San Antonio market as well.
