Texas economist: Alamo City has momentum on its side

August 18, 2011

TXP Inc.’s Travis Tullos says it will take a strong punch to knock San Antonio of of its economic stride.

Texas economist Travis Tullos says there is still nervousness and hesitation among consumers nationally.
But he says San Antonio continues to build economic momentum despite the uncertainties across the U.S. and in other parts of the world.

“We are in a very comfortable position,” says Tullos about the economic outlook for Texas and for San Antonio.

San Antonio largely escaped the grip of the recession, while a number of other cities were paralyzed. If it can maintain that momentum moving forward, more companies will view this region as one ripe for new opportunity.
