Survey shows states recovering from recession

Texas was among 44 states that showed improvement during the fourth quarter of last year, the most in any period since 2006, according to the Bloomberg Economic Evaluation of States index.

Almost all of the states benefitted from growing employment and personal income, according to the survey.

“Most states are on a recovery track,” saysRobert Dye, chief economist for Dallas-based Comerica Bank, in an interview. “That reflects broad-based improvements in the economy.”
