A new study by the Brookings Institution, an economic think tank, listed San Antonio as the 11th best recovery market in the United States and the 51st best recovery market in the world.
Among Texas cities, Austin ranked as the best recovery market nationwide and the 26th best in the world. Dallas ranked fourth in the nation and 39th in the world. Houston ranked 15th in the nation and 61st in the world.
The Brookings Institution’s GlobalMetro Monitor report examined 150 of the top metro areas globally to gauge where those markets stood with respect to the recovery. The study encompassed economic data from 2009 and 2010 in determining recovery success.
