Mark your calendars parents and students! The newly passed Senate Bill 485 has rescheduled the Sales Tax Holiday, thousands of Texans participate in every year for August 9th-11th. During these days shoppers aren’t charged tax on most clothing items, shoes and school supplies priced under $100 per item. Keep in mind that with the current tax rate at 8.25%. Shoppers can expect about $8.25 of savings per $100 they spend. While this may not seem like a large savings, this holiday does prompt many back to school sales causing malls and other shopping areas to be very crowed making it one of Texas’ busiest shopping days of the year.
